MAULI JUNIOR BONNER
Mauli Junior Bonner is a first-time writer, director, and producer. His background is in music as a Grammy award–winning songwriter. After learning about the story of Green Flake, he began writing a song . . . a 200-page song. Within months, the story of Green Flake was being captured on film. The soundtrack and score speak to the hearts of the younger generation while uncovering historical truths that have only been heard in whispers. This story is one that poetically crosses racial and generational barriers. After winning Best Director in London, Istanbul, Los Angeles, and other film festivals, director Mauli Bonner was asked, “Why did you choose to tell this story?” He responded, “Because it happened. This faith-building story needs to be told, and if not now then when, and if not me then who?”
